What?
Want to travel the world on the lowest budget possible? You’ve come to the right (internet) place. In this blog, Itchy Feet on the Cheap will attempt to create a unique resource for people who like the excitement of traveling but have a low budget.
Why?
The plan to create Itchy Feet on the Cheap came about while organizing a backpacking trip to South America. We had access to all the regular resources (Frommer’s, Lonely Planet, Virtual Tourist, etc.), and while the information they provide is extremely useful for general planning, we found it wasn’t quite detailed or low-cost enough for us.
While looking specifically for information about alternate routes to Machu Picchu we came across a blog that proved invaluable. We liked this idea of providing more detailed costs, bus and train routes, timetables, maps, and instructions; accompanied by photographs or videos.
Who?
Itchy Feet on the Cheap are Sara and Ryan. A twenty-something couple who live in Toronto, Canada. When we are not traveling we are working at saving money for our next adventure. Sara is an ESL teacher and Ryan is a location scout.
Our Goal
We want to create a community of like-minded, travel-obsessed people. We hope that you will be able to use the information we have gathered, mistakes we have made, and the secrets we have uncovered while traveling to make your own adventure easier and more affordable.
